Yes! We offer a 15% discount (excluding airtime) for U.S. Military members when ordering with a verified .mil email address and entering promo code MILITARY15. This discount is only applicable for individual users, not for Corporate Accounts.
Through a unique partnership with Viber, your primary OneSimCard number (+372) can be called free of charge for any Viber user! (requires activation and special dialing instructions, see below)
HOW: When this feature is activated, Viber users can call OneSimCard numbers for free by using a special dialing format +372800XXXXXXXX, where XXXXXXXX is the rest of the OneSimCard phone number after 372. For example, a OneSimCard user with the phone number +37212345678 should be called by dialing +37280012345678.
TO ACTIVATE: Log in to your OneSimCard account and go to the My SIM Cards menu. Scroll down to where it says "Incoming Viber Calls" and click Enable to activate this option.
COST: The call is free for the Viber user. The cost of receiving the Viber call is the same as receiving a call through a Personal Extra Number (PEN), i.e. the regular incoming call rate in the country you are in plus 20c/min. In countries with free incoming calls, like Italy or Japan, the cost will be just 20c/min.
PLEASE NOTE:
- When dialing in Viber, if Viber user chooses the Estonian country code in the menu then they should just dial 800XXXXXXXX because the +372 is added automatically.
- If the “free calls to OneSimCard from Viber” option is not activated for a particular OneSimCard number, when a Viber user dials +372800XXXXXXXX they will hear an automatic message: “The mobile phone is either switched off or out of coverage area.”
PLEASE NOTE: Viber is not available for the DataMax or DataMax eSIM

You are in Kenya and can't pay using a credit card. You would like to purchase a OneSimCard SIM for $39.95, and also be able to add airtime (recharge) later. You will also need to pay for shipping. First step - you need to add funds to your OneSimCard Money Fund. It's up to you what amount you would like to send us, but it should be large enough to cover your purchases. Let's say you posted $200.00 to your OneSimCard Money Fund. Once the money is received, we will send you a confirmation email. Then you can log in to your OneSimCard.com account and place your order. It will be instantly processed and the money will be deducted from your OneSimCard Money Fund account.
Example 2
You have 3 SIM cards and 3 personal second numbers. You want to set up auto-recharge for SIM1 and SIM2 in $25 increments and the third one in $50 increments. You also want to extend (recharge) your Second Numbers every month. Let's say you put $500 into your OneSimCard Money Fund account. Now you can set up $25 auto-recharges on your 2 SIMs and $50 auto-recharge for your 3rd SIM, as well as and automatic extension of your second number. This option allows many users around the word to take advantage of OneSimCard.com services without using a credit card.
Example 3
You use your credit card account to add money to the 1SIMCard Money Fund. The transaction from a credit cardl is instant. Funds will be instantly added to your 1SIM Card Money Fund, and then you can use the Money Fund to make any purchase at OneSimCard.com.

With OneSimCard Plus SIM or Expedition (formerly Data & Roam) SIMs: After pressing the TALK/SEND button you will see a variable message on the screen (for example 'Wait for call') which you can ignore and your phone will ring back in a few seconds. Answer this ring as you normally would answer any incoming call. Your call will then be connected. If you are unsure about how to properly dial an international number, follow this link for detailed country by country dialing instructions.
For Physical 3-in-1 DataMax, and DataMax eSIM cards, you can place calls using our low cost OneSIM VoIP service. OneSim VoIP costs much less than traditional voice roaming.
Of course you can! Simply send and receive SMS texts according to your phone's user manual or from the OneSimCard Menu. Receiving SMS is always free. Sending an SMS (text message) is $0.15 - $1.50 depending on the country.
SMS messages sent to a OneSimCard phone should always be sent to the main OneSimCard mobile number rather than to an optional Extra Number, with the exception of new SMS enabled numbers in USA, Canada and UK Mobile available since Jun 3rd, 2014. When replying from OneSimCard phone to the SMS received on USA or Canada SMS capable PEN using Europe & More sim or the Expedition SIM, the main number of the SIM that starts with 372 will be displayed on the text receiver phone. With the Universal SIM, you can select what caller ID will be shown on the SMS receiving party phone.
You can also send SMS messages from OneSim VOIP app at much lower rates. Note: for Physical 3-in-1 Datamax and Damax eSIM all SMS messages MUST be sent through the OneSim VoIP App with PEN.
You can also send a free SMS message to any OneSimCard customer from our web site or by sending email to 372XXXXXXXX@sms.onesimcard.com, where 372XXXXXXXX is the OneSimCard primary mobile phone number. The maximum number of daily SMS sent to the SIM over email or web is 25.
Please bear in mind that message should be sent in English characters. In addition, it should not be longer than 160 characters including spaces.
These 2 options of sending SMS by email provide completely free way of communicating, as it is usually free for you to send the email and costs nothing for the OneSimCard customer to receive a text message.
For Universal E, Expedition E, eSIM World E, eSIM Asiania, Plus, Europe & More, & Standard SIM Cards, the international SIM card phone number and account will expire if no outgoing usage is made for 12 months. The outgoing usage could be any of the following: Call made from the phone, SMS sent from the phone or any Data Usage. Personal Extra Numbers will stay active as long as they have been funded properly. The SIM card balance is valid for 10 months. The balance will continuously roll over to the next 10 month period provided that at least $25 is added within 10 months after the last recharge. If the balance expires, the service can still be used after a new recharge of the SIM card.
For Physical 3-in-1 DataMax & DataMax eSIM SIM Cards, the SIM card and account will expire if no outgoing usage is made for 12 months. The outgoing usage could be any of the following: Call made from the OneSIM VoIP App, SMS sent from the OneSim VoIP app or any Data Usage. Personal Extra Numbers will stay active as long as they have been funded properly and the SIM hasn’t expired. If the SIM card expires, but then is restored ($10 Restoration Fee applies), the PEN will be re-attached to the SIM card, as long as the PEN hasn’t expired based on the time period for which the PEN was purchased. The SIM card balance is valid for 10 months. The balance will continuously roll over to the next 10-month period provided that at least $25 is added within 10 months after the last recharge. If the SIM card balance expires, the SIM will expire and be removed from the account after 7 days, unless there is a data package currently active on the SIM (not a future activation). If there is no balance on the SIM and the active data package expires, the SIM will expire 7 days following the expiration of the active data package. So, to keep the SIM active you need to either keep a balance on the SIM or an active data package.
An expired SIM can be restored for a $10.00 restoration fee plus a recharge of at least $25.00.
You should make any call the same way as if you were making an international call. For example, you are in France and need to call Paris:You should dial 00331XXXXXXXX. Please note that you should not dial 01 for Paris, but rather just 1 after country code 33, because Paris' code is 1. Dialing 0 in front of 1 is required when making a regular long distance call within France to Paris. However, when making an international call or OneSimCard call, 0 is omitted. For example, if you are located in Italy and need to call Rome:You should dial 003906XXXXXXXX, as Rome's code is 06. Get more information about international dialing codes.
If you are unsure about how to properly dial an international number, you can Click here for more detailed country by country dialing instructions.

SMS messaging usually works without any additional setup of the phone. In rare cases when there are issues sending or receiving text messages, please look at the following:

- Incorrect SMSC number (SMS Service Center Address) in handset settings.
SMSC number should be set as follows:
1. For Standard and Plus OneSimCard SIM: +3725099000 for all countries except:
a. China: +85290296747
2. For the Expedition (former Data & Roam) SIM as well as for Europe & More SIM: +37256100041

Expedition (formerly Data & Roam) and Europe & More SIMs in any country: **5005*7672*+37256100041#
If your phone requires the name of Message Center Name enter: SMSC SMS lifetime is short - must be at least 2 hours or set to Maximum settings. Try sending SMS from OneSimCard menu
Problem with Receiving SMS:
- Receiving Handset does not have enough free memory for incoming SMS.
- Receiving Handset was turned off or out of the coverage area during SMS lifetime set on the sending phone - usually 2 hours.
- Sender's SMS provider does not have an agreement with the receiving network.
Note: You can always dial 00 instead of + when making outgoing calls. For example, to reach OneSimCard customer service in the USA you can just dial 001 617 3138888. You should consult the phone manual for this info. Different manufacturers have specific ways to access the '+' key, so make sure you know yours. Here are few known ways:
- Bosch: Press and hold the star (*) key until the "+" sign appears.
- Motorola: Press and hold the zero key until the "+" sign appears.
- Nokia: Press the star (*) key twice in rapid succession.
- Pocket PC: Pull up the keyboard, hit the <123> button in the top left corner, and select "+" from the resulting screen.

Yes, you can easily forward calls from your regular cell phone number, home phone, office, etc. to your OneSimCard phone while you're abroad!
Your OneSimCard international Universal and Expedition SIM card comes with both a European and U.S. number. To forward your regular U.S. numbers to the SIM, just set them to forward to the U.S. number that's included with your SIM card. For eSIM World and DataMax eSIM, you can order Personal Extra Numbers (PENs) as needed for an additional cost.
You can also order unlimited Personal Extra Numbers (PEN) - Local or Toll Free - in many different countries, including USA, Canada, UK, France, Italy and Spain. For example, if you work or live in the UK and want to keep receiving calls made to your regular UK numbers, just add a UK PEN to your SIM card and set up call forwarding to that new number. Calls received through a PEN will be charged an additional 20c/min to the incoming rate of the country you are in. The exception is calls received through a UK-Mobile PEN which is only charged an additional 25c per call. Please Note: Your subscription to a Personal Extra Number starts the moment your order is shipped. If you do not need your PEN to be active right away, you can always wait and order a PEN later at any time by logging in to your account.
You can forward your calls to your 1SIM VoIP PEN. Simply forward all calls from your phone number to your 1SIM VoIP PEN using the directions below. Normal charges will apply for receiving calls to your 1SIM VoIP number (there will be NO extra $0.20, or $0.25 for UK PEN, cost to receive a call on OneSim VoIP).
Different carriers use different ways of programming call forwarding. Below are instructions to setup call forwarding with various US wireless carriers. We urge you to test the call forwarding a few days prior to your trip, and to call your wireless carrier for assistance if needed. Alltel, , Verizon Wireless, Cricket Wireless To activate Call Forwarding:
- Press *72 on your cellular phone.
- Enter your ten-digit Second Personal OneSimCard phone number (area code + telephone number).
- Press OK/Send (a tone will confirm that Call Forwarding is active).

The eSIM World, eSIM Asiania, OneSimCard Europe & More and Universal SIM cards do not use the callback to make an outgoing call in over 70 countries.
Currently, the mobile application to remove the callback on other SIM cards is not available.
There are two ways for SMS message to be sent:
- From the OneSimCard application menu called OneSimCard - TravelSMS. To send the message, you need to locate OneSimCard menu on the phone and then scroll down to TravelSMS menu. Sending text message this way is the least expensive and will cost you 15 cents per message from any country.
- Usual way from SMS sending menu of the phone. It cost 40 cents per text message from most countries with the exception of few countries where the rates are higher.
Find detailed rate information here.
Another way to reduce the cost of sending Text is to use the SIM VOIP app and send SMS from the app. This will reduce the cost of sending SMS significantly.
Bear in mind that sending SMS messages to the abbreviated special SMS destinations like voting, music downloads, etc. will cost you $9.00 per message.
This does not apply to DataMax SIM cards.
The OneSimCard phone number has no expiration, provided you made at least 1 call or sent an SMS once every 12 months.
However, the funds on the SIM expire 10 months after your last recharge. The minimum recharge amount is $25. You can keep the balance from expiring by simply recharging at least once every 10 months. If you let your balance expire, then all you need to do to get the service up and running again is to log in and add funds to your SIM card. Automatic recharge will be canceled if you let your funds expire.
NOTE: For Physical 3-in-1 DataMax & DataMax eSIM SIM cards, if the SIM card has no balance, the SIM will expire and be removed from the account after 7 days, unless there is a data package currently active on the SIM (not a future activation). If there is no balance on the SIM and the active data package expires, the SIM will expire 7 days following the expiration of the active data package.
An expired SIM can be restored for a $10.00 restoration fee plus a recharge of at least $25.00.

DataMax SIM cards can't be managed by myOneSim app at this time
Some recent Android upgrades to versions 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 have a bug causing the OneSimCard Menu, labeled as SIM Toolkit, to be disabled.
If you do not see the SIM Toolkit app in your Android phone, please try doing the following:
Go to Settings>Security>Other Security Settings>Setup SIM Card Lock>Lock SIM Card. It will ask for the default SIM PIN. Enter 0000. Power off the phone and turn it back on. The SIM Toolkit app will then become available, though it might take 1-2 minutes for the phone to display it.
On Android version 5.1 go to Settings > SIM Cards > SIM Toolkit
Once you have access to the SIM Toolkit, select it, scroll down to Settings, enter 1101 and press confirm. Your phone will now be able to dial normally.
For eSIM cards, make certain that your eSIM is enabled.
There are three ways to check the remaining balance of purchased data plan.
1. On-line in the Discount Section of the My SIM Cards menu of your web account or in the mini account at https://ma.onesimcard.com/
2. For eSIMs from the OneSim eSIM app
3. From OneSimCard mobile phone (for Universal, Expedition and eSIM World SIM cards only):
Dial the following: *146*942#
The remaining data balance will be displayed.
To see if your PEN is capable of receiving SMS, please log in to your on-line account at www.OneSimCard.com. In the Recharge Menu next to the PEN you will see if it is SMS capable or not. You can also see there if this PEN could be used for VOIP or not.
Direct Dial calling allows the caller to enter the international call prefix, country calling code and telephone number and then be directly connected to the person they are calling. This is how you dial when using your regular mobile service. Direct Dial Calling is standard on the OneSimCard Europe & More, OneSimCard Universal and eSIM.
Callback calling also allows the caller to enter the international call prefix, country calling code and telephone number. After the called number is entered, the user immediately receives an incoming call connecting the user to person called. Callback is very simple to use and allows for low cost calling on the OneSimCard Plus and OneSimCard Expedition (formerly Data & Roam). Callback does not increase the connection time. It is the same as with Direct Dial.
For DataMax eSIM can be installed once.
For eSIM World purchased after Jan 1st, 2024, after the initial installation, the eSIM can be reinstalled up to 9 times. This eSIM can NOT be installed in any other device. This eSIM can only be reinstalled in the original device. In no circumstances can the eSIM be installed more than 10 times (the initial installation plus 9 subsequent installations).
For eSIM Asiania this eSIM can only be installed 1 time. It cannot be reinstalled after the initial installation.
In no circumstances can the eSIM be installed more than 4 times (the initial installation plus 3 subsequent installations).
Yes you can. On your online account, in the "My SIM cards" menu, you will see a section labeled "Select SIM Card." In that section there is a line labeled "Use w/o Plan." If you do not want to use data on a per MB/Pay-As-You-Go basis, and only consume data with a data plan, set this to "Off."
Troubleshooting Questions
- Troubleshooting SMS, specific phone models, countries of stay, roaming
This answer applies to SIM cards purchased before January 1, 2017.
Some phones, such as Samsung, some Motorola, Android and Apple iPhones, require special dialing instructions or simple OneSimCard settings menu changes in order to make calls.
It is possible to make almost any phone entirely compatible, so you can call directly without using the OneSimCard menu or *146* by following these simple programming instructions below.
How to activate compatibility mode:
1. Locate OneSimCard Menu.
On iPhones it is called SIM Applications menu and is located under Settings- Phone menu
On Androids it is called SIM Toolkit app or OneSimCard app and it looks like one of the apps.

If for any reason after entering compatibility code, you still do not get a ringback or you get the ringback the first time you make a call, but second time it would not work, please enter code 802 into the Service Code window instead of 1101 as provided above.
iPhone users can download OneSimCard Assist App from iTunes that will takes care of the iphones compatibility issues, except for removing the ringback.
For example, calling to USA: Dial *146*0016175551212# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
* is a star character located on the keypad
- To check your balance dial *146*099# and press the TALK (or SEND) button

Again, this troubleshooting advice might be needed only for older SIM cards.
If you just activated your SIM card and can not make a test call by following the instructions in the user manual, you will likely just need to power off the phone and power it back on again. The phone should automatically re-register with one of our partner networks. Remember, if you answer the test call when it rings you will be charged for the call.

If your phone or SIM card is lost or stolen and automatic recharge is on, this could be a serious problem. To prevent this, log in to your account and activate the option to block your service immediately after you notice your phone or SIM card is missing. You can find this option in the My SIM Cards menu. Your OneSimCard service for this SIM card number will be instantly blocked. The remaining balance on your lost SIM can be transferred to another SIM card on your account or you can order a replacement SIM card if you would like to keep your phone numbers from the lost SIM. However, the existing data package can’t be transferred to the new SIM card. Alternatively, you can contact customer service online or call 001-617-313-8888 for assistance.
This reply does not apply to OneSimCard Europe & More SIM or newer SIM cards purchased after January 2017.

Again, this is for older SIM Cards. Newer SIM cards do not require entering any codes in iPhone or other types of phones.
Some phones such as Samsung and some other brands require dialing a specific prefix 146 in front of the dialed string when used with a OneSimCard.
For example, calling to USA: Dial *146*0016175551212# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
* is a star character located on the keypad
- To check your balance dial *146*099 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
- To add funds dial *146*098XXXX*ZZ and press the TALK (or SEND) button,
where XXXX - 4 last digit of your credit card on file, ZZ - Recharge amount

- Activation of voice mail *146*091 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
- Deactivation of voice mail *146*090 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
- Check number of messages in Voice Mail *146*094 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
- To listen to voice mail *146*095 and press the TALK (or SEND) button
The sequence *146* can be used from any phone. However, most phones do not require it.
It is possible to make almost any phone entirely compatible, so you can call directly without using OneSimCard menu or *146* by following these simple programming instructions below.
How to activate compatibility mode:
1. Locate and Open "OneSimCard" Menu. ( It could be displayed as STK Menu)
2. Select "Settings"
Newer SIM Cards: Select "Compatibility" and make sure "On" is selected
Older SIM Cards: After selecting Settings:
- Agree with message by pressing "Yes"

Bear in mind that if you have powered your telephone down, and have removed and reinstalled the battery, you will need to follow the programming steps outlined above, again. d when used with a OneSimCard.
Some phone models do not allow direct dialing with older OneSimCard SIMs sold before January 1, 2017. To get around this problem, you should try either of these methods:
- Locate the OneSimCard menu on your phone. (Some phones have it in Applications.)
Make a call using menu 'Call'.
- You can also make a call by dialing directly *146*00 Country Code Number#
For example, to make a call to the USA, you would dial *146*0018574440686# (do not forget to hit pound at the end of the number)
* is a star character located on the keypad
Other examples of how to use the *146* dialing prefix if necessary:
- To check your balance dial *146*099# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
- To add funds dial *146*098XXXX*ZZ# and press the TALK (or SEND) button,
where XXXX - 4 last digit of your credit card on file, ZZ - Recharge amount
- You need to press * on your phone in the above dialing sequences (it is a star character located on the keypad)
- Activation of voice mail *146*091# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
- Deactivation of voice mail *146*090# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
- Check number of messages in Voice Mail *146*094# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
- To listen to voice mail *146*095# and press the TALK (or SEND) button
The prefix *146* and # at the end can be used from any phone. However, newer OneSimCard SIM do not require it and you should be able to dial codes directly, 091, 094, 095, 099 or 098XXXX*XX Talk. If you have an older SIM and the dialing does not work without entering *146*, please follow these simple instructions to remove the need to dial *146*: How to activate compatibility mode:
1. Locate OneSimCard Menu.
On iPhones it is called SIM Applications menu and is located under Settings- Phone menu
On Androids it is called SIM Toolkit app and it looks like one of the apps
- Open "OneSimCard" menu ( SIM Applications, SIM Toolkit, STK)
- Select "Settings
Newer SIM Cards: Select Compatibility option and make sure "On" is selected
Older SIM Cards: After selecting Settings:
- Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
- Dial digits "1101" and select "OK" (Screen will show "CC OptionX: ON" message)
Bear in mind that if you have powered your telephone down, and have removed and reinstalled the battery, you will need to follow the programming steps outlined above, again.
When dialed directly, some Nokia and other phones can display message: "Call is not allowed" or "Call is barred". Just ignore this message and wait for the ring-back for 10 seconds or so.
Local carriers in Saudi Arabia sometimes block standard OneSimCard outgoing calls. If this happens you need to either (a) enter a compatibility code into the settings of your phone or (b) initiate your call by sending an SMS message from the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard menu) of your phone.
How To Activate Compatibility Mode:
- Open "OneSimCard" menu
- Select "Settings"
- Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
- Dial digits "802" and select "OK" (screen will show message "output channel is SMS")
Bear in mind that if you have powered your telephone down and removed and reinstalled the battery, you will need to follow the programming steps outlined above again.
How To Deactivate Compatibility Mode:
- Open "OneSimCard" menu
- Select "Settings"
- Agree with message by pressing "Yes"
- Dial digits "801" and select "OK" (screen will show message "output channel is USSD")
How To Dial Without Activating Compatibility Mode:
Initiate your call by sending an SMS message from the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard menu) of your phone.
To: 9146 Message: 00 + Country Code + Number +
* is a star character located on the keypad
For example, to call from Saudi Arabia to Boston USA you should go to the SMS menu of the phone and send a message:
To: 9146 Message: 0018574440686
After your SMS is sent wait 3-10 seconds. You will get a callback as usual and your call will be connected to the destination number.
Note 1: You can't send this SMS from the SMS OneSimCard menu of the phone.
Note 2: If you see on the screen that the message has not been sent, make sure that SMS settings of your phone is complete and the SMS Center number is set to: +3725099000
There are no special instructions to receive calls in these countries.
Not Really. If you are planning to use Mobile Data, you will need to enable Data Roaming on your phone. Everything else in modern phones get done automatically. However, you should ensure that the APN on the device is correctly updated when the SIM card or eSIM card is enabled.
Here is a video showing how easy it is to enable roaming:

Yes. To reduce fraud and to protect you from over-spending, there is 30-day credit card spending limit set for each individual account. You will only be able to charge up to a certain amount during any 30-day period. You can see your current limit by logging in to your OneSimCard account and going to the Purchase History menu. If you would like to increase your monthly credit card spending limit, please download the Authorization form and submit it back to OneSimCard as instructed on the form. We strongly suggest that you set your monthly credit card limit before going overseas as dealing with the form on the road can be much more difficult.

There can be a number of reasons why a battery does not hold a charge. Excluding the possibility of it being a faulty battery, there is another important factor to consider. If your phone is not registered on a roaming network, the battery will drain very quickly as the phone is constantly searching for a network to register on. So, if you get on a 6 hour flight and do not turn the phone off, or put it into airplane mode, by the time you land at the airport your battery will be drained and you will not be able to call back home.
The same thing will happen in those areas with spotty or weak signal network coverage - the battery will drain very fast. It is always a good idea to have an extra battery with you when you travel abroad.
This is a known issue with Apple's Facetime and iMessage applications on Apple iPhone devices. We recommend disabling Facetime and iMessage so it will not be able to automatically send SMS to this 447786205094 number. Any SMS sent to this number automatically by your phone can not be refunded by OneSimCard. Additional questions regarding iPhone applications and how they communicate should be directed to Apple Support.
You can learn more on the Apple Support web site:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5968824
If you left your phone on during your flight or cruise then you should fully power down and restart your phone. Once your phone powers back on it should automatically select an available roaming network.
If your phone is not a quad-band phone, please make sure that the bands of your phone are those required in the country of your travel. You can look it up here.
In some countries like in USA turning off 3G mode of the phone will make it quicker for the phone to register on the network.
SMS messaging usually works without any additional setup of the phone. In rare cases when there are issues sending or receiving text messages, please look at the following:
Problem with Sending SMS:
- Incorrect SMSC number (SMS Service Center Address) in handset settings.
SMSC number should be set as follows:
1. For Standard and Plus OneSimCard SIM: +3725099000 for all countries except:
a. China: +85290296747
2. For the Expedition (former Data & Roam) SIM as well as for Europe & More SIM: +37256100041
Special instructions for Apple Phones:
With Apple iPhones to check SMSC:
From the phone dialer Dial *#5005*7672#
You will see the SMSC set currently on the phone.
To change the SMSC on Iphone dial:
Plus and Standard SIMs: **5005*7672*+3725099000# for all countries except China and **5005*7672*+85290296747# if in China.
This means that your SMS text message has been split up into multiple messages because it contains too many characters.
Each standard GSM format SMS text message can be a maximum of 160 characters. If you send a text in a foreign language or that contains any unsupported characters, the text will be sent in Unicode format with a maximum character length of 70. If your text exceeds these character limits then it will automatically be split up and sent as multiple messages and your account will be charged accordingly for each outgoing SMS text message.
There is a known bug with iPhone phone book. If you are trying to text to a contact that is entered in the phone book, and the contact is not entered in proper international number format, the SMS will not go through even if you just enter the number in the SMS menu directly and properly.
Please edit the record in the phone book to be +CountryCode_Number. It needs to have the + character in front, which is an equivalent of 00.
You will also need to delete all recent attempts to send SMS to this number from the Messaging menu. It should be no conversation or attempts to send SMS left in the phone to this number.
We understand that this is very frustrating, but do not know why Apple will not fix it. This problem affects only Apple phones.
Example: for US Number 1-617-600-8250 you should have entered in the address book: +16176008250
Delete existing text conversation after fixing the phone book record.
You can always test your SMS by sending SMS to OneSimCard Support number +16176008250 from your OneSimCard phone. This will create an automated ticket in the system and you will know if the message was delivered or not. You will be charged regular SMS rate for this message.
Sometimes when moving from the USA, Canada or Mexico to another country, the SIM card will need to be reset to properly register on a new country roaming network.
- If you have the OneSimCard Menu on your phone (it may be called Sim Application Menu on iPhones or SIM Toolkit on Androids), go to the menu, scroll down to Settings and enter Service Code 2003 and confirm, then Code 000 and confirm. For older SIM cards after this enter Service Code 1101 and confirm. Turn the phone off and then back on.
- If you do not have access to the OneSimCard Menu then turn off your phone, remove the battery for 20 seconds, reinstall the battery and then turn back on your phone.
Yes. All unlocked iPhones' Hotspot feature works with OneSimCard SIM.
There are a few settings to make sure for this to function properly on your iPhone:
1. Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data - ON
2. Settings - Cellular - Data Roaming - ON
3. Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data Network - Cellular Data - APN = APN will be set automatically
4. Settings - Wi-Fi - ON
5. Settings - Personal Hotspot - ON.
After turning the Hotspot on, you should stay on the Personal Hotspot screen of your iPhone for SSID of your phone to show up on other Wi-Fi devices, so you can get connected. After you connected to the Hotspot, you can leave the screen. Alternatively, you can always use Bluetooth or USB connection to provide the internet access from your OneSimCard iPhone Hotspot to your other devices.
This is very simple!
- Go into your "Settings" app, and choose "Connections"
- Click on "Mobile Networks"
- Toggle on "International Data Roaming"

OneSim VoIP
- Questions about OneSim VoIP mobile application
The main advantages are significant cost savings and the ability to call from countries where there is no voice roaming coverage available, or for DataMax or DataMax eSIMs
OneSim VoiP can be used from any Android or Apple ( iOS) device to make international LD calls even when you are not traveling. OneSim VoIP does not require having OneSimCard SIM being installed in the phone. OneSim VoIP can be used with Wi-Fi or 3G/4G - no difference. You just need to have OneSimCard account with the SIM VoIP capable PEN. Calling using OneSim VoIP will cost most of the time less than any other way of calling.
OneSim VoIP is available with the following SIM cards: Plus, Expedition (formerly Data & Roam), Europe & More, DataMax, and DataMax eSIM.
OneSimCard VoIP requires you to order a compatible Personal Extra Number (PEN). Most of the PENs we offer are OneSim VoIP enabled. You also need to have an Android phone with software version 8 or higher, or Apple device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) with iOS 6.1 or higher. Once you have an active OneSim VoIP enabled PEN, you will be able to see the option to create a OneSim VoIP account in the My SIM Cards menu of your online account.
There is no additional cost except for the fact that you need to have a compatible Personal Extra Number (PEN) active on your SIM card.
Once you create the OneSim VoIP account, you will be emailed settings and instructions. You can also see the settings in the My SIM Cards menu of your online account.
To make an outgoing call using OneSim VoIP, you need to be registered on a Wi-Fi network and have the OneSim VoIP app running on your phone. You should make the call using the OneSim VoIP app dial pad. To make a call the regular roaming way,you should make a call from your regular phone dial pad.
NOTE: Regular roaming calling is NOT available on DataMax or DataMax eSIM cards. To use voice you will need to use the OneSim VoIP app
When someone dials your OneSim VoIP enabled Personal Extra Number (PEN), the system will first check if your OneSimCard phone is registered with the OneSim VoIP app on a Wi-Fi network. If it is registered, the call will be sent using VoIP. If the OneSim VoIP app is not running or it is not registered on a Wi-Fi network, then the call will be sent using the standard OneSimCard roaming network and charged our standard roaming rates.
Yes. If you are not available to answer the OneSim VoIP call or if the OneSim VoIP app is turned off, the call will be routed through our standard roaming network. If the call is not answered it will be sent to your OneSimCard voicemail box.
NOTE: Voicemail is not available for DataMax or DataMax eSIM cards with OneSim VoIP.
The quality of a OneSim VoIP call is only defined by the quality of your Wi-Fi connection. This is the part of the connection that we can not control. Quality of the Wi-Fi connection is defined by many parameters, rather than just by the speed of the connection. With a good Wi-Fi connection the quality of the call will be similar to using our regular roaming network.
No. OneSimCard SIM is not required to be installed in the phone for OneSim VoIP to be used. However, you do need to have OneSimCard account with a VoIP capable PEN.
Yes. You can call from absolutely anywhere as long as you have a good Wi-Fi connection.
Calls between two OneSim VoIP phones are absolutely free.
Log in to your OneSimCard account, go to the My Sim Cards menu and scroll down. If your PEN is VoIP compatible you will see an option to create a OneSim VoIP account. At this time all OneSimCard PENs are SIM VOIP capable except for UK Mobile numbers.
If you have more than one OneSim VoIP enabled PEN you can switch between these PENs for the purpose of the OneSim VoIP account. This option is available in the My SIM Cards menu in your online account.
Your active OneSim VoIP Personal Extra Number (PEN) will be shown on the caller ID.
If your incoming calls are not being routed through the OneSim VoIP app then you are either not connected to Wi-Fi or the OneSim VoIP app is not active.
Please make sure to check your phone's sleep settings, as they are usually preset to have Wi-Fi turn off when the phone enters sleep mode. To prevent this and to keep OneSim VoIP active for incoming calls, find the settings in your phone and set it so Wi-Fi does not turn off when the phone enters sleep mode.
Note: if the OneSim VoIP logo on the top of your phone display is gray then you will not be able to receive calls through the application. When the logo is yellow that means you are connected and can receive calls through OneSim VoIP.
In countries where the cost of using mobile Internet Data is below 20 c/MB, the cost of using SIM VoIP over the data is comparable or less than the actual calling rate from the country.
As a rule of thumb, the SIM VoIP will use 1MB /Min of talk time. So, if the cost of Data in the country is 10 c/MB, then 1 minute SIM VoIP call will cost you 12 cents /minute. You need to have a 3G connection in order for SIM VoIP to work this way.
OneSimCard SIM VoIP users with US and Canadian numbers may now send and receive text messages over the OneSim VoIP app on iPhone and Android. The cost to sending a message is $0.05 per text to most countries. Receiving message is $0.05.
OneSimCard SIM VoIP users with US and Canadian numbers may now send and receive text messages over the OneSim VoIP app on iPhone. The cost to send or receive each message is $0.05.
Newer Android OS versions have settings that do not allow apps to run in the background by default. This means that you will get an SMS or a phone call only while your phone display is ON. Once the phone goes to sleep, the app will get deactivated.
To fix this, you need to make a change in your phone's battery optimization settings:
Settings -> Apps and notifications -> See All Apps -> 1SimVoIP -> Advanced -> Battery -> Don't Optimize
The settings path may slightly differ depending on the phone model, but usually it is located in the App's Battery menu.
